Is This Your Year?
‘’A fresh start. A new chapter in life waiting to be written. New questions to be asked, embraced, and loved. Answers to be discovered and then lived in this transformative year of delight and self-discovery. Today carve out a quiet interlude for yourself in which to dream, pen in hand. Only dreams give birth to change." - Sarah Ban Breathnach
Is this your year? Is this the year you change your life? Renovate your home? Get super fit? Achieve the success you deserve? This is my year – I know because I make every year my year. We create our own lives and are responsible for making changes and taking the opportunities that come our way. This can be the easy part! There are heaps of ideas and help out there to support you in your efforts. Take a look at my website for all the workshops this month http://www.bilvalife.com/empowering-intuition-workshops.html and classes throughout the year http://www.bilvalife.com/schedule-of-thetahealing-seminars.html which are tailor made to help you achieve whatever you wish for. However, for many people the dream about becoming successful becomes all-consuming and they forget to think about preparing for success ahead of time.
Are you ready for success? You can start preparing for greater success in the New Year by paying attention to these key areas:
It’s all in your head….
Some of the biggest changes you experience from success are in your frame of mind. The differences in the mind sets of an unsuccessful person and a successful person are like day and night!
To prepare your mind for success, you may want to devote some time to encouraging yourself with positive self-talk, boosting your confidence and self-worth, and affirming your capabilities as often as you can. So you never feel overwhelmed or anxious about the increased responsibility that can come with greater success.
Do you look the part?
Have you ever heard the phrase, ‘Dress for the job you want to have.’ There is much truth in this, and although we all know appearances should not matter – they do. They matter to you! When you think you look good (whatever that means to you) and you feel energised, then you shine brighter to others with your self-confidence. With greater success often come a more purposeful stride, straighter spine, and perhaps a chin held a fraction of an inch higher than it used to be. If you catch yourself slouching, avoiding eye contact or scurrying when you walk, it might be an indication that you're not confident enough to handle the success you desire. Body language reveals a lot!
Begin carrying and conducting yourself like a person who is proud of their accomplishments and confident that they can achieve still greater things. Your body will convey the message both to other people, and your own psyche. Are you dressing for success? Or do you dress like a person who aims to blend into the crowd and avoid attention? Take pride in your appearance and you'll feel more inclined to take pride in the rest of your life too.
Spirit and Soul
Do you fear how you would handle power and success? Are you frightened of becoming arrogant? Great success without spiritual fortitude can breed an expanding ego; whereas developing your spiritual self while on the journey to success can encourage humility and compassion, build your character and strengthen your integrity. So remaining grounded, remembering who you are at heart and never taking for granted the spiritual gifts and abundance that blooms from your journey to success, are important skills.
Focus on these three aspects of self-development and you'll not only handle your success more easily when it arrives, but you'll probably grow more quickly into the successful person you want to become - even before you've accomplished your goals.
A thought to leave you with….
"The object of a New Year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul and a new nose; new feet, a new backbone, new ears, and new eyes. Unless a particular man made New Year resolutions, he would make no resolutions. Unless a man starts afresh about things, he will certainly do nothing effective." - Gilbert K. Chesterton
This may or may not resonate with you but it is food for thought. I wish you every success this New Year in whatever way you seek it. I offer you guidance to manifest and co-create your life and I hope to see you at one of our New Year workshops this month.
With warm wishes
